Scale of Charges and Fees
Scale of Charges and Fees for the archive of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities of 12 th June 2017
In accordance with § 6 of the Order for access policies of the archive of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities of 1 st January 1994, the following scale of fees is issued:
§ 1 Liability to charges
Fees are levied for reproductions from the archive holdings and for the right of their reproduction in print products, in film, on television and in online services/on the Internet. The academy archive reserves the right to refuse reproduction orders whenever archival materials could be endangered or damaged by being reproduced.
§ 2 Fees for copies
from unbound files

| − each copy format DIN A 3 | 0,75 € |
from bound files
| − each copy up to format DIN A 4 | 0,80 € |
| − each copy format DIN A 3 | 1,30 € |
| − each copy format DIN A 4 on special coloured paper | additional charge of 0,25 € |
Twice the price is charged for copies on both sides of the page.
§ 3 Fees for reader-printer copies
| − for each re-enlargement with the reader-printer made by archive staff | 0,50 € |
| − for each re-enlargement with the reader-printer made by the user of the archive | 0,25 € |
§ 4 Fees for scans
| – for each scan with 300 dpi | 1,00 € |
| − for each scan with more than 300 dpi | 3,00 € |
| − for the data transfer (CD-ROM, DVD) | 0,50 € |
§ 5 Lending fees for records and other units kept by the archive, picture materials (photos) and works of art
| − for lending of documents and picture materials per page of text or picture | 5,00 € |
| − for technical and conservation expenditures connected with the lending of records and other units kept by the archive and works of art for each loan | 100,00 € |
§ 6 Permission fees
Fees are charged for the right to copy reproductions from the holdings of the academy archive in print products, films, television, sound recordings and on the Internet.
(1) For copies in books, brochures and periodicals at home
- for the reproduction per picture or page of text

(2) For copies in books, brochures and periodicals abroad

(3) For commercial reproduction on post cards, posters, calendars, stamps etc.

(6) For the replay of sound recordings

(7) For use in online services/on the Internet (for use of each archival unit)

§ 7 Special services
| −for the preparation and supervision of photo and film shoots of records and other units kept by the archive and works of art in the premises of the archive each half hour commenced | 30,00 € |
§ 8 Postage and bank fees
The scale of fees of the German Post PLC apply to the postage of the reproductions ordered from the academy archive.
For the postage of reproductions from the academy archive to foreign countries the client has to pay the bank charges.
§ 9 Remission of fees
The making of reproductions in accordance with § 2 to § 5 and the lending of records and other units kept by the archive, picture materials (photos) and works of art in accordance with § 6 of this order is free of charge for academy members and members of staff in the academy administration and for the academy projects and work groups.
In accordance with § 7 of this order, no permission fees will be charged for the publication of the academy projects and work groups.
§ 10 Commencement
This order comes into effect on 12th June 2017.
